What The Cup?

Spring 2026
Case Study and Prototype

This mobile app was created for the fictional What The Cup? coffee company. The goal of this project was to create an intuitive and accessible app that maintained a strong brand personality.

The Research:

To prepare for the design of this app, research was conducted through a usability survey of the Starbucks app, a comparative analysis of different companies' interfaces, and a heuristic analysis of the Starbucks app. Research was centered around the Starbucks interface due to its overall popularity, the success of its usability, and the interface pattern utilized.

After the completion of this research and the comparison of interfaces utilized by different companies (ie, Starbucks, Dunkin', and Biggby), the goals of this design and prototype were clear:

to provide users with an intuitive, accessible, and easily navigable experience while maintaining the style and personality of the What The Cup? Brand.

In future steps, I would like to further design the menu, ensuring all concerns identified through my research are addressed, and integrate more usable elements in the prototype (such as typing, giving a visual to the search function, and order deletion, etc.), and further develop the visuals and prototype for account holders and returning users.
